Cata Build 13183: A Mana Fix?

It looks like Blizzard is releasing a new beta build soon and MMO Champion has the details. It looks to be a balancing build and does show the Balance tree a little love.

Mana Changes:
  • Starfire now costs 11% of base mana, down from 16%.
  • Wrath now costs 9% of base mana, down from 14%.
  • Euphoria now restores 8/16% (up from 6/12%) mana when you reach a Solar or Lunar eclipse.
The big moonkin concern coming out of the beta recently has been mana, and apparently Blizzard has been listening. These changes will definitely help but it's a little early to say how much without testing the rotation.

I do want to point one thing out about the current mana situation. When we talk about mana issues we are primarily talking about two subjects: Mana Consumption, and Mana Pool/Regen.

Mana Consumption: As a caster DPS spec we cast as much as possible. So, how much mana we use is dependant on the length of the fight and the number of breaks in a fight. If you look at the Instances in WotLK you will notices that fight length does change from fight to fight, but doesn't really change from instance to instance. Therefore our mana consumption should be fairly constant through out the Cataclysm.

Mana Pool/Regen: Our mana pool is determined by our Intellect, and most of our mana regen is based off of our mana pool. Therefore our mana pool/regen will be highly variable over the course of Cataclysm.
These two things are important to remember because they explain a lot of our mana issues in the beta. As we test our rotations our Mana Consumption is near the maximum that it will be since it is relatively constant. On the other hand our Mana Pool/Regen are at their lowest point because we are using gear from quests and a few instances. Our mana issues are going to be at their worst in the very beginning of the expansion for this reason. The changes above are very helpful, but if they don't seem like enough, don't worry. Thinks will get better.

Thorns Nerfed:
  • Thorns damage reduced by 66%
This change doesn't surprise me one bit. I know a lot of people will be disappointed by this nerf but I think it is hard to argue that Thorns wasn't overpowered. In my opinion a buff shouldn't do more damage the then any of our DPS spells and that was the nature of Thorns.

Hopefully this will turn Thorns into a situational spell for PvE. Best use at the beginning of a fight or when adds are about to spawn. When it comes to PvP I don't know what I'm talking about, but I do know this is a pretty big loss. That said I think it still has some teeth.

Moonfire Buffed:
  • Moonfire base additional damage increased by 50%.
I'm not sure if this is a significant buff or not. If it just boosts the base damage without changing the spell coefficient then it will have little impact. If the spell coefficient was changed as well then this is a pretty huge buff and puts Moonfire on par with Insect Swarm. We will have to test this when it hits the beta.

New Tree of Life:

As a general rule I don't care that much about what things look like in game. I am much more concerned about how things play. That said, we know that Blizzard has an art department, and if they are going to have an art department I want them to produces some things I think are cool to look at.

That said, I like the new tree of life form, and I'm glad it's not just a reskin of an Ancient. Hopefully this means they will get around to redoing the moonkin forms some time soon much like they did the feral forms.

Other Changes:

  • Starfire cast time changed to 3.2 sec, down from 3.5 sec.
  • Entangling Roots now has a 1.7 sec cast time, down from 2 sec.
  • Cyclone now has a 1.7 sec cast time, down from 2 sec.
  • Moonfury now also affects Starsurge.
The Starfire cast time change seems strange and I'll believe it when I see it. My guess is that it is some sort of data mining error or bug within WoW. The changes to CC cast time seem strange as well but I am seeing it on the CC spells of other classes as well.

Raid Warning Podcast: The Druid Roundtable

The Druid Roundtable from the Raid Warning Podcast is now available for you listening pleasure. I had a lot of fun being apart of it and I don't think I sounded to bad.

What I found really interesting was how many moonkin were involved. When I started blogging 3 years ago there were a ton of resto and feral experts, but moonkin experts were few and far between. Of the 13 druids involved in the podcast 9 were noted moonkin and only Lissanna and Hamlet realy did double duty as Resto. We have come a long way.

Raid Warning Podcast: Shift Happens

Once again someone has asked me to plague the internet with my voice and random musings about druids and WoW. This time it is the Raid Warning Podcast who will be conducting Druid Round Table with many of the big names in the Druid community. From the Moonkin community you will recognize Tyler Caraway aka "Murmurs" from WoW Insider, Hamlet from Elitest Jerks, Lissanna from Restokin.com, and several others. There will also be several experts on resto and feral like Kalon from ThinkTank, BBB from Big Bear Butt, and Keeva from Tree Bark Jacket.

It's a pretty exciting line up that I am honored to be a part of. If you would like a full list of participants you can find it on the Raid Warning web site.

If you would like to get involved you can submit your questions for the round table via email (raidwarningpodcast@gmail.com), a comment below, or call The Raid Warning Rant Line at 707-602-RANT (7268).

The show is being recorded over the weekend, and should be available next Tuesday Oct 12th.

Cata Build 12942: The Frustrated Graylo

Once again Blizzard releases a new beta build with few Moonkin, but nothing that really addresses the issues talked about Lissanna, Murmurs, Relevart, and the other beta testers. I am an advocate for patience. I don't believe that Blizzard wants Moonkin to suck and in no way do I believe that Blizzard will let moonkin suck. That said, I am getting very frustrated. Each patch comes out with a few changes here and a few changes there, but nothing that seems to address the real issues. Here are my thoughts on the most recent changes.

Tier 11 Balance Set Bonuses:

These are pretty hard to evaluate when you don't really know the context that they will be operating in. I still think Blizzard needs to do quite a bit of tuning on moonkin to make them competitive. That said there are couple of things I noticed right off the bat.

  • Two Piece Set Bonus: Increases the critical strike chance of your Insect Swarm and Moonfire spells by 5%.
The two piece set bonus seems decent. If you assume that we will have about a 25% crit chance in Tier 11 content and that our DoTs will make up between 25% to 40% of our total DPS, then this set bonus should increase our DPS by 1.0% to 1.5%. It may not sound like much but it is pretty good for a 2 piece bonus from the first tier of raid content. At this point, I would not be upset if this one went live.
  • Four Piece Set Bonus: Whenever Eclipse triggers, your critical strike chance with spells is increased by 99% for 8 sec. Each critical strike you achieve reduces that bonus by 33%,
How the four piece set bonus would impact moonkin DPS is hard to tell but I can see one issue with it right away. The 8 second duration of the buff is way to short and it will be a problem for a couple of reasons.

  1. Any experienced moonkin is no stranger to the first reason. An 8 second buff is very easy to lose to movement, stuns, or anything else that prevents you from casting for a short period of time. That is one of the main problems of the current version of eclipse that we are trying to fix with the new system. Therefore it doesn't make sense to structure the buff this way.
  2. The second reason 8 seconds is to short, is because you can barely fit 3 Starfire casts in 8 seconds, and it might be impossible when you consider lag and reaction time if procced early with Euphoria. Plus, while the first two casts are pretty much guaranteed to crit, the third probably had a 60% chance at best. If it does not you've lost that 33% chance to crit because there is not enough time left to cast a fourth Starfire with the buff up.
If this set bonus is to have any chance of being used then the duration on the buff needs to be increased. I think it needs to be 15 seconds at minimum, but 20 or 25 might be better if Blizzard really wants to protect it.

If it is fixed it will be interesting to see how this affects the Cata rotation debate. The primary way seen discussed to do that would be to extend the Eclipse buff for the full 45 seconds and then instantly proc the same eclipse when the old one drops. That increases the time between Eclipse procs and obviously devalues this set bonus.

Talent Tree Changes:

Has Blizzard abandoned the interesting and fun talent design goal that they couldn't stop talking about 6 months ago? If you remember, Blizzard kept saying they wanted players to have more interesting and fun talent choices and to get away from all the passive bonuses that have traditionally been the glue of talent trees. Now with each patch it seems like a new passive bonus is added or expanded. Two builds ago we had 10% damage to moonkin form. Last build they expanded Nature's Majesty to affect all spells. Now we are getting these changes.

  • Nature's Grace revamped - Increases your spell haste by 1/2/3%.
In this change Blizzard is taking what could be considered an interesting and fun talent and turning it into a passive bonus. Not only that, but it's a complete nerf. If you assume a 25% crit chance and a Patchwerk style fight the old Nature's Grace would have resulted in an average haste value of about 6.5%. Granted that value would be lowered by movement and such, but I doubt it would be cut in half.

The other impact of this change is that it simplifies the moonkin rotation. With the old version it would be best to cast DoTs while NG is up because it's a large buff that would last for the duration of the DoT. Therefore, turning Nature's Grace into a passive buff should make the moonkin rotation easier. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing really depends on your point of view.

  • Balance of Power no longer increases your chance to hit with spells, increases your nature and arcane spell damage by 1/2% instead.
I don't have a problem with the chance to hit being removed from this talent. I have a feeling that we will have Spirit coming out of our ears by default and needing more could actually help us some with itemization. However, I am a little annoyed that they slap another passive buff on there to make up for the loss. How many of our talents now have passive buffs on them? It's got to be 5 or 6 of them.

  • Lunar Shower now increases the direct damage done by Moonfire by 15/30/45%. (Old - Increased all damage dealt by Moonfire)
Not a big surprise here. I don't think Lunar Shower was ever intended to buff anything other then the direct damage portion of Moonfire. This probably isn't a real change. It's just a case of Blizzard correcting a mistake.

TL-DR:

There are not a lot of changes to discuss in this new talent build, and the few that we do get are just following the trend of previous builds. Blizzard continues to add more passive damage buffs to the Balance tree despite it being a stated goal of Cataclysm to do away with passive buffs.

The Nature's Grace change is a straight up nerf, but should make our casting rotation easier to manage. I don't think the Balance of Power change isn't horrible, but it's completely uninteresting. Why not just add that 2% the Moonfury mastery. Finally the Lunar Shower change is probably just correcting a mistake.

The 2 piece set bonus seems ok, and would probably be fine if it went live. The 4 piece set bonus leaves a bit to be desired, but if it does survive to live in some form it will be interesting to see how it impacts the rotation discussions that have been going on,

The Blog Birthday:

Gray Matter's blog birthday came and went this past Monday and I didn't even notice it. I've been writing this blog for over three years now and that just doesn't seem possible.

As it seems to become an annual tradition, I want to thank all the people have supported, read, and helped this blog over the years (despite the grammar issues). Though it isn't perfect or flash, I am extremely proud of this blog, and it brings me a lot of satisfaction to know that readers find it useful and entertaining. As cliché as it is to say, this blog wouldn't be possible or as rewarding without you guys.

Why Eclipse is Broken: Wow.com Guest Post

While I was not chosen to be the permanent Druid columnist for WoW.com I was asked to be one of the first bloggers to right a guest post for them. When I was asked for some ideas, I knew right away what I wanted to post about: Why Eclipse is Broken.

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately about what everyone thinks is wrong with Eclipse. A vast majority of those posts basically boil down to "I don't like Eclipse because it doesn't proc when I want it to. (aka - it is to random). Well I disagree. The post I wrote for WoW.com goes over why I disagree and takes a look at what I consider to be the real issues with Eclipse. Also, check out the comments. There are a lot of good ones from Murmurs, Lissanna and other folks.

Anyway, I want to say thanks to Dan O'Halloran the Managing Editor at WoW.com for giving me this opportunity. It was quite an honor.

Disclaimer: The Ad.

Some of you may have noticed that I put an ad for the Zygor Leveling guide on my blog. Given the recent posts by Gevlon and Tobold regarding gold guides and Affiliate marketing, I wanted to take a moment to comment on the ad.

In the past two years, I have been asked several times to place ads on my site for various products. I was even one of the many blogs offered a free copy of Dragon Age: Origins to review it. Most of the offers came from gold sellers, power levelers, and account sellers. I had a couple of offers from gold guide sellers, but the strangest offer I got was from a prominent poker website that wanted to advertise during the World Series of Poker. I have refused every offer I received due to a combination of not agreeing with their product and/or thinking it wouldn't fit with the blog.

In particular, I hate gold guides. Like Tobold, I think they are a waste of money. I read quite a few gold blogs and have learned only one undeniable truth. There is no surefire way to make a lot of gold in WoW. What works for one person on one server may or may not work for another person on another server. Plus, buy the time the time the idea is publish more people will be doing it and the profits will be less. Gold guides are basically a collection of ideas that may or may not work and I bet you can find most of them online somewhere else.

How are Leveling Guides Different?

Some of you may be wondering what is different about a leveling guide. All of the information in a leveling guide is available on WoWhead, and there are addons like Questhelper and Carbonite that will help you for free.

There are two key differences in my opinion. First, the information provided by a leveling guide is fairly static between expansions. Blizzard doesn't generally do whole sale changes to quests between expansions. When they do, the guides are generally updated for free. At least that was the case with the Brian Kopp guide I purchased when Mudsprocket came out.

Second, the true value of a leveling guide is the organization of information and not the information itself. A leveling guide gives you step by step instructions on where to go, what quests to pick up, what mobs to kill.

I know this isn't for everyone, but I like it. When I first started playing the game it took me for ever to get to level 30 because my questing was not organized. When I hit 80 and wanted to clear Icecrown, I hated having to continually look up coordinates to figure out where quest objectives were and what quests should be done together. I'm sure this says something negative about me, but I like being told what to do and where to go when leveling.

Why the Zygor Guide?

If you've read my blog for while then you know that I am a big fan of leveling guides. The first guide I used was Jame's excellent and free leveling guide at WoWpro.com. I used it to get Graylo from 30 - 60. At 60, I bought the Brian Kopp guide because Jame had not updated his guide for TBC yet. I used this guide to get Graylo, Graypal, and Grayfel to 70. When WotLK was released I bought the Zygor guide because I wanted an in game leveling guide and I didn't see any definite information that the Brian Kopp guide would be updated. I leveled all three of my 70s to 80 using the Zygor guide and I leveled my mage from 30 to 79 using the Zygor guide.

I'm not going to tell you that this guide is perfect or even the best on the market. There have been times when I thought it should have pointed me to a better spot or organized a little differently. However, I have been very happy with my purchase, and would make it again if given a chance.

Why have an Ad at All?

EDIT: I want to clarify one thing. In no way, shape, or form am I saying, "buy this guide or I'll quit blogging." How much I blog is determined by my ideas and my interest, and I seriously doubt I could make enough money of the blog for it to be anything other then a hobby. So, if your interested in a leveling guide and you would like to try the Zygor guide, then great. Please hit the link and buy the guide. However, no one should think "I need to buy that guide so that Graylo will keep blogging." If/When I deside to stop blogging I doubt it will have to do with financial issues.

Though I do not have any out of pocket costs directly related to the blog, there are plenty of indirect costs to maintain the blog. The fact of the matter is that it costs money to play the game and costs time to write the blog. However, I am not going to quit playing the game or quit writing the blog based on how many guides I do or do not sell.

I may be idealizing it in my head, but I look at it this way. I've put a lot of time into this blog. I've also spent a lot of money in the form of subscription fees, hardware and internet access, to play the game. Since the blog would not be possible without playing the game, the blog shares in some of the costs. (If you couldn't tell I work in cost accounting.)

I'm not looking to make a ton of money off the ad. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't make any. I'm just hoping that it can offset some of the costs of my two hobbies.

The Disclaimer: PLEASE READ!!

All links to the Zygor guide in my blog are affiliate links. If you click the link and buy the product, I will make some money. However, all comments made on this blog about the Zygor guide are my own. As far as I know, no one from the Zygor staff has contacted me for any reason. If you you are considering a purchase of the guide I want to make a couple of other points clear.

  1. Buying the guide WILL NOT give you access to their Cataclysm leveling guide when the new expansion is released. Do not purchase this guide now thinking it will be good when you want to level to 85. Only buy this guide if you have toons you are currently leveling.

  2. I think this guide has value. I also think some of the claims made by Zygor on their web site are exaggerations and in some cases down right BS. I have never leveled at the speed the site claims you can achieve. I also don't buy the argument that this guide complies with Blizzards policy that addons cannot be sold. If you buy this guide I encourage you to do so with some scepticism.

A Return to the Twisted Nether Blogcast

Fimlys and Nibuca over at the Twisted Nether Blogcast have asked me to participate in a round table discussion this Friday. The primary topic of discussion will be patch 3.3 and how it affects us, but I'm sure the conversation will drift some. The round table will feature myself, Matt from World of Matticus, Stoneybaby from BigHitBox, Pike from Aspect of the Hare, and possibly Honor from Honor's Code.

You may remember that I was featured on TNB back in April as the blogger of the week. I had a lot of fun and it seemed like the people in the chat room enjoyed themselves as well. I'm sure this time will be a lot of fun as well. I just have to remember to let other people talk.

Anyway, the taping will be this Friday 10/23/2009, at 10 pm CST. Click Here, if you would like to find details on how to participate in the live taping. Don't worry, if your unable to attend the taping. They will post the recorded show sometime next week and I will link it when it is available.

Gray Matter Survives Another Year

Gray Matter is officially 2 years old today. WOOT!!

It has been a pretty big year for the blog. This time last year I had a small but loyal following. We were all trying to figure out what the new expansion would mean for us, and I was writing a lot of posts each month (a lot for me anyway). Little did I know that this expansion would be a huge boost for my blog.

This past year has been a bit surreal. Moonkin have gone from being the butt of many jokes to being an accepted and viable class in high-end raiding. With that my readership has grown significantly. On top of that two blue posters have made comments about my blog and said that it has had some impact on decisions made. I can't think of a prouder moment I've had about the blog. (Though, as unlikely as it is, to get something named after me would be the awesome. Maybe it could be called "[Graylo's Idol of Eternal Spell Check].")

An Invitation:

So, where is the blog going from here?

It's probably going to be a lot of the same. I'm not planning on doing anything really differently, but I will put one thing out there.

I've gotten several offers to write for, edit, or help with the blog in some general way. All of the offers are awesome, but I'm not really sure how I feel about bringing in someone in an official way. Gray Matter has been my baby and my voice. So, I am a little protective of it, and I don't know what it would be like to share it with someone else. As scary as that is I could probably use a little help if I want to grow the blog. So, here is what I'm proposing:

If you would like to write for the blog please feel free to e-mail me an article. If I like it and think it fits in well with the blog, I'll post it as a guest post. Articles that focus on topics I am unlikely to cover like Moonkin PvP are more likely to get posted then topics I regularly post on. Also, you’re more likely to be published if you can demonstrate your command of the subject matter with Arena ratings and/or achievements. Obviously, if you submit something to me you are giving me permission to post the article.

Does reading my blog leave you itching for a red pen so you can fix all of the spelling and punctuation mistakes? Well, here is your opportunity. Please feel free to copy my posts into an email and point out all of the mistakes. If someone does it consistently, I may give them rights to fix the issues themselves.

Finally, if you do submit a post and I do not use it, please know I appreciate the time and effort it took you to do that. I hope you look at it as an opportunity to start your own blog.

Thank you to all of my readers and everyone who has promoted my blog over the past two years. It is cliché to say it, but my blog wouldn't be where it is today without you guys.

The Graylo Interview on TNB

If you were unable to attend the live taping of the Twisted Nether Blogcast last Thursday, the recorded version of the interview is now available. You can find it here. We talk about all sorts of things from Moonkin, to Theorycrafting, to Ulduar, to why I spell it "Gray" instead of "Grey".

Anyway, I had a lot of fun. It's amazing how quickly time can go. I was worried before hand that it might be a really short interview, but instead I turned out to be a wind bag and they couldn't shut me up.

Thanks again to Nebuca and Fimlys.

Graylo is about to be Twisted

I have been invited to participate in the live Twisted Nether blog cast this Thursday at 11:30 pm CDT. Since I am one of those people that has a hard time not expressing his opinion even when it's not asked for, how could I possibly turn them down.

Anyway, I am looking forward to it. I assume we will be talking about all things Moonkiny, the latest patch and maybe a little about me. I know that is pretty late for a lot of people in the US, but if you would like to participate in the in the show or just tease me about wiping a raid, please feel free to come. You can find the details on how to participate here.

I just want to say thanks to Fimlys, Breana, and Nibuca for having me. It should be a lot of fun.

The Banners

When I made the post two weeks ago asking for a new banner, I was a little nervous. I get a decent number of hits each day but you never know how people will react. I was worried that my readership might be a little more casual then I thought and not care about my banner. Luckily for me it turned out awesome.

The one I choose came from Tsunamee on the US-Firetree Server and you can see it above. I like the silhouette of the moonkin in the Moon and the color of the letters is great. At first I would have liked a change in the font, but when I saw the little moonkin head attached to the "G" in gray I was sold.

The other submissions were great also, and I really wish I had something to give you guys.

From William C. - I really liked the clean look of this one, and the brain in the moonkin is a nice play on the name.

From Cusper - Very nice and it was the first I received. A huge weight was lifted off my ego.

From Aphexdash - The only one to use a Horde image. Which is fine I don't discriminate.

From Christian G. - I really like the Horns on the letters.

Finally, Sarbakan says that he discovered my blog on a couple of days ago and didn't have time to come up with a banner but he did send me this picture that he uses as his signature.

Thank you again to everyone that made submissions. These were better then I hoped for and the choice was tough. Since Phae is closing her doors I have to take up some of her screenshot competitions.

Eyonix: "<3 Graylo's blogs :D"

Tuesdays are slow WoW days for me. My guild doesn't raid so I try and spend a little extra time with the wife and kid. So, last night I put my son to bed. I'm about to go down stars to watch a little TV with the wife, but she is finishing a few things up so I have a couple of minutes. Why don't I take a quick look at my blog email to see If I've got any comments or questions.

Hmmmm, I've got an email Phae. This is should be interesting.

I'm sure you've gotten a hundred e-mails about this already, but just in case: http://blue.mmo-champion.com/2/14990442808-loatheb-moonkin-dps.html

Eyonix reads Gray Matter :-)

Congrats!
Phae

What that heck? :-/ ....... (I click the link)

(Heart) Graylo's blogs :D
What???? :-O

A blue poster reads my blog. That is awesome!

Really it's not that surprising that the CMs and probably other Blizzard employees read WoW related blogs. Phae has over 2500 subscribers, Matticus isn't far behind, and I'm sure BBB is way up there also. There is no way blizzard could miss these excellent blogs.

However, I don't put myself into that category. I still think of Gray Matter as a fairly small blog. Its not well designed and polished like those I mentioned above (I should really switch to wordpress). I service a small (but growing) community that doesn't have a whole lot of resources. In turn I get to comment on an excellent game and have people respond in a way that is much more satisfying then posting in the WoW forums.

So, to think that one of my 130+ subscribers might be a blue poster blows my mind. I would have considered it wishful thinking to think that I was on their radar.

I think Phae put it best when she offered congratulations on her blog.

It is really exciting – for all of us – to think Blizzard might read some of the many fantastic class/spec-based blogs out there.
I agree completely. It's amazing to think that we as bloggers and commenters might have a small impact on how Blizzard develops the game.

So great job to everyone that takes the time to write about and comment on their class/spec. It is a task with few tangible rewards, but the satisfaction you can get from helping your fellow players makes it all worth it. Plus, you never know who might be reading.

Note:
Special thanks are owed to Starkfist and all of the people that have promoted my blog across various places of the Internet.

Also want to point out that this is not a solo effort. I may be the one writing the posts, but the info is generated by the community. Thanks go out to Erdluf and Badeggplant for correcting my math. And thanks to all of the EJ and Moonkin Repository posters for being so helpful and providing so much information.

Gray Matter is Branching Out

I didn't mention it when it happened but a third thing happened during my awesome week. Phae over at Resto4Life asked me to write a post for her amazing blog. Since her readership is much bigger then mine I jumped at the chance. (Branching Out .... Get it?)

In an effort to provide something that is relevant to both Moonkin and Resto's I took a look at the gear changes in WotLK. In the past, Moonkin have had to fight tooth and nail with clothies to get decent gear. All of that is about to change. With the abundance of Leather Caster gear in WotLK expect that debate to change. Not only will clothies resist us rolling on cloth even more, but know we will be competing for the good leather items with all the tree's running around.

However, it doesn't have to be a big fight. It is my belief that each caster item leans more towards a DPS role or a Healing role. In my article I look at each of the stats and show how both Moonkin and Trees value them. Hopefully, this will prompt some good conversations with in our guilds so that we can plan our upgrades, have fewer arguments, and spend less DKP.

You can find the article here.

Thanks again to Phae for allowing me to spend some time on her blog. Hopefully I didn't leave to many feathers in the couch.

Gray Matter Linked on WoW Insider

This has been a great week for the blog. My blog has steadily grown over the past year despite my lick of editing and I've been pretty happy with it's size. I was getting on average 300 or 400 hits a day. Getting some nice comments after my posts, with people asking questions and disputing my articles. I even have had some one ask to advertise on my site. All good stuff.

Now I've had two events happen in one week that I consider major mile stones for the blog. First on Tuesday I had over 1000 hits in a single day. That isn't much compared to some of the big blogs like Resto4Life or World of Matticus, but it doubled my previous record. It basically told me that when people had questions about this patch, that they wanted to hear my opinion. I was shocked and humbled by it.

The second mile stone happened today. I was linked on WoWInsider (link). I have followed this site for WoW news for quite a while and hoped that one day they might notice me. I have privately been critical of WoWInsider's coverage of Moonkin in the past because I thought most of it was a list of changes with little or no analysis. This article defies all of my previous concerns. I don't necessarily agree with all of comments made but it was obvious that Allison Robert did her research and knew the issues.

I just want to say thank you to WoW Insider for the links and taking a serious look at moonkin. If my blog helped in any way then I am pleased.

To any new readers that may have just found there way here I say welcome. I hope you find my site useful and please feel free to ask me questions or comment on my posts.
